Interleukin 8

Interleukin 8 (IL-8) is a chemokine, secreted by macrophages, phagocytes, and epithelial, airway smooth muscle, endolethial cells.
Endolethial cells stash IL-8 in storage vesicles, also known as the Weibel-Palade bodies.
Most popular receptors, binding on the surface of IL-8 are the G-protein-coupled serpentine receptors CXR1 and CXR2.
Not like most cytokines, Interleukin 8 has a diverse target particularity for the neutrocytes, consisting only feeble effects on other blood cells. IL-8 induces and trigger neutrocytes in inflammatory parts.
